What stories are holding you back today?

In school, I was consistently first from the last in any race. I cringed at the thought of Sports day. The only good thing about those days were the carts from where we could buy yummy bhel puri.

I carried this story that I was incapable of doing anything sporty in my life.

Six years ago, I signed up for a Yoga instructor course. I wanted to do Yoga by myself, without having to go to a Yoga class early in the morning. That was my only motivation when I signed up.

That was a turning point in my life. I learnt that my body could bend, twist and turn in ways I had not imagined. I could even do 108 Surya Namaskars.

I kept doing small experiments to quell this myth over the years.

Like running three kilometers in a sari without any preparation. Climbing up the Tirumala hill. Walking the 14 km parikrama barefoot around Tiruvannamalai. Even adventure sports.

These experiences made me question my story about my body being terrible at physical activities. My body had flexibility and endurance. Better still, it enjoyed physical activities.

What stories are holding you back? Would you like to challenge them?
